Allison E. Viescas is the budget director for the Global Development Department at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS). Mrs. Viescas joined CSIS in April 2020 and brings over 20 years of experience in nonprofit management, program finance, administration, and operations. Mrs. Viescas previously led programs focused on global health, international education exchange, climate mitigation, career pathways for disadvantaged youth, and employment opportunities for U.S. veterans with disabilities. Mrs. Viescas’ expertise is in U.S. government contracts, budget analysis, project implementation, and strategic planning, accrued through her work across the public and private sectors. She joins the CSIS Global Development Department to apply her combined experiences to execute program finance and operations. A certified project management professional and master of legal studies candidate at American University Washington College of Law, Mrs. Viescas also holds a master of public administration in international nongovernmental organization management from the New York University Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service and a bachelor of arts in political science and Mandarin Chinese from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine. She has experience working and studying abroad in Nanjing, China; Istanbul, Turkey; Durban, South Africa; and in Latin America. Allison is also conversant in Mandarin Chinese and Spanish.
