Bhawna Prakash
Bhawna Prakash is a non-resident adjunct fellow and former senior fellow with the Chair on India and Emerging Asia Economics at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS). Her research focused on water, sanitation, and urban development—examining the role of the private sector, the water-energy nexus, emerging technologies, and opportunities for U.S.-India bilateral cooperation. With over two decades of experience, Bhawna has worked with government agencies, philanthropic organizations, and private sector clients to design and implement transformative projects. Her expertise spans strategy development, public policy, program design, business models, partnerships, and execution across the water, wastewater, infrastructure, and urban sectors. Before joining CSIS, Bhawna held leadership positions in the Government and Public Sector Practice at EY India and previously worked with McKinsey & Company and Tata Consultancy Services. Bhawna earned her master's in public administration from Harvard Kennedy School of Government. She received her graduate degree with honors in commerce from Delhi University and is professionally qualified as a chartered accountant in India. She is currently based in New Delhi, advising not-for-profits and foundations on urban economic growth strategies and development programs.
