The Printing and Publication Department can be considered as a recently emerged department in the Disability Association of Tavana (DAT). It is 6 years old.
Compared with other departments in the DAT which have been established one or two decades ago, the Printing and Publication Department is a fledgling
department.
The Printing and Publication Department was created due to the engagement of DAT in the publication of printed mass media, especially the publication of Peyk-e Tavana Monthly. Also, market feasibility studies indicated that it is necessary to establish such a department.
Some of the objectives of the establishment of the Printing and Publication Department are
as follows: creating job opportunities for the disabled people; obtaining more
revenues for the DAT; increasing the capital the DAT; supporting other
departments of the DAT; and meeting the publication, printing, and
advertisement needs of the DAT.
The Printing and Publication Department began its activities as pilot a project in 2012. After the declaration of the Printing and Publication Department’s
financial performance sheet for the first 6-month period, the DAT authorities
decided to allow this department work permanently. The Printing and Publication
Department purchased its necessary and primary equipments to begin its
activities in this phase and it is currently working as one of the departments
within the DAT. This department is concentrated on the enhancement of the
quality of its services as its most important priority. In fact, the Printing
and Publication Department endeavours to produce its printing stuffs and
materials based on the latest standards in the printing and publication
industry.
Establishing an offset printing unit, turning into an extensive printing house, creating job
opportunities for the disabled people, and obtaining high levels of revenues
are some of the objectives that have been envisaged for the Printing and
Publication Department. This department urges the government authorities to
ease the payment of financial facilities in order to be able to develop its
activities and, as a result, recruit further disabled individuals and help them
get more experienced and earn their livelihood.
