Mapping Minerals Diplomacy is an explainer series that examines how countries around the world are shaping their minerals diplomacy strategies and how the United States can more effectively deploy its own tools to compete. As the global landscape for critical minerals evolves, so too must U.S. partnerships. With vast untapped potential abroad, international cooperation offers a strategic advantage by leveraging the reserves, production capabilities, and exploration investments of other nations.
Each week, Dr. Gracelin Baskaran, Director of the CSIS Critical Minerals Security Program, is joined by a senior government official or industry leader to explore national strategies, mineral potential, and the challenges ahead for deeper U.S. engagement. Past guests have included the Honorable Dr. Kevin Rudd, former Australian Prime Minister and Ambassador of Australia to the U.S.; the Honorable Bouna Sylla, Minister of Mines and Geology in Guinea; Bob Wilt, CEO of Maaden; and Brian Menell, CEO of TechMet.
New episodes air weekly.
