Measuring U.S. Energy Security

March 19, 2026 • 9:30 – 10:00 am EDT

Please join the CSIS Energy Security and Climate Change Program for a discussion on the National Center for Energy Analytics’ latest U.S. Energy Security Index with Mark Mills, Executive Director, National Center for Energy Analytics. Mark will join Joseph Majkut, Director of the CSIS Energy Security and Climate Change Program, for a conversation about the Index’s key findings and how America’s energy security improved over the last decade, why risks have begun rising again, and what the trend suggests for the years ahead.

NCEA’s new U.S. Energy Security Index introduces the first integrated measure of the state and direction of geopolitical risk in the U.S. energy system—tracking 18 indicators across oil, gas, minerals, uranium, and infrastructure vulnerabilities.
