Tavana (DAT) commemorated the International Day of Families on Monday, May
15th, 2017, in the DAT Conference Hall with the presence of 52 families,
according to Public Relations and International Relations of DAT.
Some 91 invitees, members of the board of directors
of DAT, and several DAT staff participated in this ceremony whose main theme
was “Families, Education, and Welfare.”
Families and their disabled children took part
in this hilarious and happy ceremony. They also participated in competitions
that had been organized by DAT.
On the occasion of this very important day,
families partook in a book reading competition and it was scheduled to award
three winners up to a couple of days later. In addition, disabled children
participating in this ceremony took part in a painting competition.
It should be pointed out that mothers who were
present in the Global Day of Family participated in a cooking competition. This
competition was judged by Ms. Maryam Aslani, who is an expert of education
management. The three winners of this competition received coupons for
purchasing the products of the Art Center of Handicraft Industries of Disabled
People.
Mohammad Hassan Hadi, DAT deputy for social
affairs, referred to the vital role of families in realizing the potentials and
discovering the capabilities of their disabled children and said: “Fathers
should, like mothers, take care of the shortcomings as well as educational
level of their children and endeavor to enhance the capabilities of their
children and families.”
