Women’s Day (March 8), a ceremony was held on Tuesday in the Conference Hall of
the Disability Association of Tavana (DAT), Public Relations and International
Affairs of DAT reported.
More than 100 people, including a couple of mothers who have disabled children
and several disabled university students along with DAT authorities were
present in this ceremony.
This ceremony was organized through the collaboration of DAT authorities.
Speaking in this ceremony, Seyed Mohammad Mousavi, the head of DAT Board of
Directors, congratulated the Women’s Day to all women and mothers, especially
disabled women, and highlighted the importance of women in strengthening the
fundamental bases of family and society. “in addition to bringing up the next
generation, women are nowadays playing important roles in different areas of
social life,” Mousavi added.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Mousavi pointed out: “During 22 years of its
activities, DAT has always taken advantage of the studious efforts of disabled
women, and several disabled women and mothers are currently working as active
staff of DAT.”
The head of DAT Board of Directors Emphasized on the fact that women have
always proved their extensive capabilities and observed: “In families with
disabled members, women play different roles, i.e. the nurse of disabled
individuals, the mother of disabled children, the wife of disabled husbands, the
disabled employee, etc. In many cases, women have acted as the very eye and ear
of the society. Their efforts have been greatly influential in encouraging the
society to adopt a much more appropriate approach toward disabled people and
highlighting the problems and difficulties of these individuals.”
At the end of this ceremony, the United Nations Secretary General’s message on
the occasion of International Women’s Day was distributed among the
participants.
